Two years separation and we know more
than a parting
of ways, more than grief.
Morning brings us into people
we would never be, exaggerating
what we once were: giants
in our own minds. Denying
the reality that digs hard
from a cold place,
pushing down
the well, tearing down
bridges, building
walls with the stones.
